The honour in disgrace: Imran wins!
Man handling Imran Khan like they did yesterday shows how closed up our society is to new ideas, people and democracy itself. I certainly felt hurt for the way our national heroes like Imran Khan have been mistreated by a bunch of students in Punjab University.
But what these dumb political workers don’t understand is that there is rising popularity of Imran Khan amongst the youth and middle aged people of Pakistan, for he stands up for what is right, what is just and what is proper. Perhaps these students are not familiar with words like honesty, integrity, and truthfulness who had the balls to do such a thing to him. Their actions have rather catapulted his status in the political arena. And in utter grace, they way he has handled the situation, he has in fact been honored more than disgraced at the hands of these mindless drones of Islami Jamiat -e- Tulba (IJT). The way police is handling the protesters shows that the establishment is not ready for a democratic change. If only they allow them to protest in a side, or in a corner of a city, what harm would it do?
However there have been widespread condemnation of IJT student’s actions, and the IJT has also issued a notice that has suspended 17 of their workers. But that is not enough, this goon-squad should be disbanded for good, for the damage has already been done and repercussions of which we will see in the coming decades.
Perhaps it would have made everything hell lot easier if someone had realized that power is something that is flimsy. And there would be less of a tension in our society today because of that. It is imperative that Pakistan’s stakeholders start working out on newer paths.
The need of the hour is to show restraint, dignity, self-respect, and honor each other a little more. For their ideas and their personalities, if anything. We cannot move forward if we do not respect each other as human beings.
Call it trial by fire, I hope Imran comes out gleaming more than ever so I could vindicate my new found support for him and his method. I have all my sympathies for the women and men who stand by Imran Khan in this hour of need and are facing the brunt of police brutality.

For God’s sake RISE UP
On every campus in Lahore join protests against musharraf and jamiat
For God’s sake, for Pakistan, show some self respect and RISE NOW till the release of Imran Khan.
